What We Mean By “A Christian Perspective”

We say on the podcast that we explore fantasy, Christian and otherwise, from “a Christian perspective.” But what does that mean? People will use the word “Christian” in a variety of ways, and there’s lots of things one could mean by calling something “Christian.” So what do we mean?

Well, for the sake of the podcast, we could sum it up by saying we take two things for granted!

One:

The Christian Bible presents us with an accurate vision of what it means to be human, who God is, and how we ought to live in response to that reality.

Two:

Our lifestyle of engaging in regular habits of prayer, Bible reading, and church attendance shapes the way that we see the world and the things we want to talk about.

That’s it!

It’s also worth saying that both of us (Karlissa and Jason) come from a largely evangelical subcultural background.  This affected what media and books we grew up with and what assumptions about art and storytelling we encountered.
